About Alice
Alice is a theatre director and dramaturg based between Birmingham and London. Recent work includes directing & dramaturging Canalligator, a new children’s play developed in collaboration with schoolchildren across Birmingham, and Community by Farrah Chaudhry, commissioned by the Birmingham Rep before touring locally; as well as script reading for a midscale commission with Rafia Hussain Productions.
Passionate about community-centric, form-bending stories and deadpan humour, Alice has read for leading organisations and awards across the UK, including In Good Company, the Bruntwood Prize, Sky Comedy Rep, the Royal Court, Papatango, and the Victoria Wood Prize. She believes in theatre as a tool for systemic liberation. From 2021-2025, she co-directed the Birmingham Rep's young actor training company; she now works as a facilitator for the charity Everyone's Invited and as a Mentor Director for National Theatre Connections.
In January 2026, she will be directing an r&d for Clive Judd’s new play ‘Sabrina’, produced by Emmerson & Ward, and a new audio play with Calathea Arts about Street Arts & young people in Birmingham.
