About Alice

Alice is a director and dramaturg, based in Birmingham. Recent work includes directing & dramaturging 'Community' by Farrah Chaudhry, commissioned by the Birmingham Rep before touring locally; as well as script reading for a midscale commission with Rafia Hussain Productions, and a Midlands-wide script window with In Good Company.

Passionate about community-centric, form-bending stories and deadpan humour, Alice has read for leading organisations and awards across the UK, including the Bruntwood Prize, Sky Comedy Rep, the Royal Court, Papatango, and the Victoria Wood Prize. She believes in theatre as a tool for systemic liberation. From 2021-2025, she co-directed the Birmingham Rep's young actor training company; she now works as a facilitator for the charity Everyone's Invited and as a Mentor Director for National Theatre Connections.

In January 2026, she directed an r&d for Clive Judd’s new play ‘Sabrina’, produced by Emmerson & Ward, and a new audio play with Calathea Arts about Street Arts & young people in Birmingham. Currently, she is reading for the 2026 Papatango Prize, as well as an r&d for James Trevelyan's new play 'Chase', with Lichfield Garrick— a story about conspiracy theories and digital isolation, all set on Cannock Chase.
